This policy explains what ReadBook collects when you use ReadBook and how we use it. We collect the minimum needed to run the Service.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Content you upload: the texts/subtitles you add, plus your reading progress, word statuses and vocabulary review history.
- Usage data: basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Payment data: collected manually off-platform. We do not store card details; we only record your subscription plan and status.
How we use it
- to provide reading, translation and vocabulary features;
- to manage your account, subscription and entitlements;
- to secure the Service and prevent abuse.
Third parties we share data with
- AI translation providers — to disambiguate word meanings, individual words and sentences are sent for translation. We do not send your account identity with them.
- Our hosting/database provider — to store your data securely.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your books, pages and personal data, except where we must retain records as required by law.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, and request a copy, by emailing [email protected]. You can delete your books at any time from within the app.
